Size Guide

Size Guide

This guide helps you choose the best fit for kids’ items with confidence. Because children grow quickly and comfort matters most, we recommend measuring first whenever possible. If you’re unsure, contact us anytime—our customer support is available 24/7.

01 — Before You Choose
Tools Needed

For most items, you only need a soft measuring tape (or a string and ruler). Measure over light clothing, keep the tape level, and avoid pulling too tight. If you are between sizes, choose based on how you prefer the fit—snug, regular, or roomier.

Key Areas

Chest: Measure around the fullest part of the chest.

Waist: Measure around the natural waistline (not too tight).

Hips: Measure around the fullest part of the hips/seat.

Height: Stand straight without shoes and measure from head to heel.

Foot length: Place the heel against a wall, stand on paper, mark the longest toe, then measure heel-to-toe.

Fit Preference

Kids’ sizing can vary by style and intended wear. If the product is designed to be layered (for example, over sweaters), consider sizing up for comfort. If the item is meant to feel snug (for warmth or stability), follow the product page guidance.

02 — Shoes & Footwear

The most accurate way to select kids’ footwear is by foot length. If your child measures between sizes, we generally recommend choosing the larger size for comfort—especially for closed-toe or structured styles.

  • Growing Room A small amount of room is normal for kids’ shoes. As a general guide, allow a little extra length for movement and growth, while keeping the fit stable at the heel. Too much room can affect walking comfort and support.
  • Wide Feet If your child’s feet are wider than average, consider styles with adjustable closures or a naturally roomier shape. When available, follow any fit notes on the product page.
  • Socks & Thickness If your child will wear thicker socks, measure with the sock type they usually wear. Thick socks can change fit noticeably, especially in snug or structured footwear.
Pro Tip Measure both feet. It’s common for one foot to be slightly longer—choose the size that fits the longer foot.
03 — Clothing

Clothing sizes are most reliable when you use height and key body measurements together. If your child is between sizes, choose based on the intended look: a cleaner, closer fit or a relaxed fit with room to grow.

  • Tops Use height and chest measurement as your primary reference. If the style is structured or less stretchy, consider sizing up for comfort. For relaxed, everyday tops, a regular fit is usually best.
  • Bottoms Use waist and hip measurements, then consider inseam length if noted. If your child prefers more freedom of movement, or if the style is meant to be worn higher or lower on the waist, choosing the larger size can provide a more comfortable fit.
  • One-piece & Layering For one-piece items, prioritize height and torso comfort. If your child is tall for their age or has a longer torso, sizing up can help prevent tightness. For layering (jackets, coats), consider a slightly roomier size.
04 — Hats & Accessories

For hats, the most reliable measurement is head circumference. Measure around the widest part of the head (above the eyebrows and ears). If you are between sizes, choose the larger size for comfort.

Fit: A good fit feels secure without leaving deep marks.

Accessories: For socks or slippers, if your child is near the top of a range, consider the next size up.

05 — Fabric & Stretch
  • Stretch fabrics: Usually more forgiving.
  • Structured fabrics: Less forgiving; choose larger if unsure.
  • Lined/Insulated: Can feel tighter; allow extra room.
  • Adjustable closures: Offer the most flexibility.
06 — Between Sizes?

If measurements fall between two sizes, choose based on the item category and how you plan to use it.

Size Up When: Fast-growing kids, seasonal layering, thicker socks, or when the product has a more structured construction. If you want longer wear, a slightly roomier fit can be a practical option.
